Title of “Export Deed of the Year” awarded to E-Piim

Tonight, at the formal gala organised by FinanceEstonia at the Energy Discovery Centre, AS KredEx Krediidikindlustus awarded E-Piim with the title “Export Deed of the Year”.

“In the present complex situation, E-Piim has managed to maintain its export volumes and find new markets, successfully combining credit insurance and other financial instruments to manage risks. The complex economic situation demands flexibility from companies in financing their export activities, and E-Piim has managed this well,” Meelis Tambla, Chairman of the Management Board at AS KredEx Krediidikindlustus, said.

According to Jaanus Murakas, Chairman of the Management Board at E-Piim, the year that is about to end has been challenging for the company. “As a result of political and economic factors, our traditional export markets have closed, but regardless of this, we have managed to maintain our export volumes under these “plan B” circumstances, allowing us to continue achievement of our long-term goals in spite of the radically changed environment. The measures provided by the state for supporting export marketing and managing risks have been a great source of support for us and have given us a feeling of security in this currently pretty uncertain world. A great leap forward has been made over the past few years in terms of successful cooperation between the public and the private sector; however, there is still plenty of untapped potential remaining,” Murakas said.

E-Piim is one of the largest dairy industry companies in Estonia; cheese is produced at the Põltsamaa dairy, and various milk powders and butter at the Järva-Jaani dairy. The company sells 20,000 tonnes of dairy products a year, with a sales turnover of EUR 55 million, 70% of which is accounted for by exports.
