It is possible to see the heating cost of neighbouring building with the help of heating map

08.06.2010

KredEx has created an interactive map application, which according to geographical coordinates displays locations of apartment buildings on the map of Estonia, from where it is possible to see the information of energy consumption of an apartment building, i.e. how much an apartment owner in that building pays in average for heating energy per m2 in a month.

According to Mirja Adler, head of the Housing Division of KredEx, the purpose for e-map application is to provide a possibility most of all for inhabitants of apartment buildings to compare their heat consumption to the consumption data of similar apartment buildings in the same area.

“The second purpose is through comparison to draw attention to energy consumption and encourage inhabitants to decrease the energy consumption by renovation – the heating cost of a non-renovated apartment building is significantly larger than that of a building with a renovated and organised heating system,“ Mirja Adler added.

At the moment, heating cost information of more than 2000 apartment buildings is available in the map obtained from Tallinna Küte and Kuressaare Soojus. Negotiations are being held also with other companies specializing in provision of heating energy to final consumers, and the long-term goal is to include most of apartment buildings belonging to the district heating network in the map.

The heating map system is based on the map application of Regio, and it is possible to view it in the web page of KredEx at http://www.kredex.ee/kutte-tarbimine.
