    KredEx lowered export guarantee prices towards Russia

    KredEx dropped the prices of short-term export guarantees to Russia, Ukraine and Romania. Estonian exporters now have the opportunity to insure their export transactions up to 20% cheaper than before.

    Due to unexpectedly huge demand for housing grants reconstruction, KredEx has run out of financial sources received from state budget for the year 2005 faster than expected. KredEx stops accepting applications of housing grant for reconstruction starting from tomorrow.

    KredEx supports local municipalities

    KredEx supports local municipalities with 17,1 million kroons. 15,1 million is for the enlargement of local rent housing fund, in order to purchase or build apartments for the tenants of restituted buildings and 2 million for new labour in the country regions of Estonia. Since 2003 KredEx has supported local municipalities with more than 32 million kroons. This year 5 municipalities received the support in the total amount of 7,1 million.

    KredEx begins to accept applications of housing grants for reconstruction

    Starting from December 15, KredEx begins to accept applications of housing grants for reconstruction. This year KredEx received 5 million kroons in order to support the renovation of Estonian apartment buildings. Since the year 2003 KredEx has supported the reconstruction of more than 1100 apartment buildings in amount of 44.8 million kroons.

    KredEx opens an energy efficiency competence-centre

    Starting from January 2006 an energy efficiency competence centre will start to operate in KredEx. The aim of the competence centre is to manage and provide information related with energy saving measures in high-rise residential buildings.

    KredEx supports local municipalities with 7,1 million

    The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication confirmed the names of the municipalities that receive support for the enlargement of local rent housing fund. Since 2003 KredEx has supported local municipalities with more than 32 million kroons.

    This year 8 municipalities received the support in the total amount of 7,1 million. With the help of the support the local municipalities plan to build 98 new apartments for the tenants of restituted buildings.

    KredEx continues cooperation with European Investment Fund

    KredEx and European Investment Fund (EIF) signed a cooperation contract in April 2004 in order to share the risks taken by KredEx in guaranteeing bank investments loans. Since April 2004 KredEx has issued investment loan guarantees with EIF counter-guarantee to 147 Estonian enterprises in the amount of 195 million kroons. KredEx and EIF prolonged their cooperation agreement till June 2007.

    KredEx has paid out claims to Estonian exporters for 12 million kroons

    KredEx guarantees Estonian exporters transactions since 2001. By this time KredEx has paid out 11, 9 million kroons in claims to Estonian exporters. This year 8,4 million kroons was paid out in claims.

    KredEx stops accepting applications of housing grants for reconstruction today

    Due to unexpectedly large amounts and volumes of application for housing grants reconstruction, KredEx has run out of financial sources received from state budget for the year 2005 faster than expected. KredEx stops accepting applications of housing grant for reconstruction today.  KredEx has gave a positive conclusion to 890 apartment buildings altogether 1,92 million kroons.

    Housing grants for reconstruction are running out

    By today approximately 53 000 kroons has remained from the stage budget, in order to issue housing grants for reconstruction. Due to the running out of financial sources received from the state budget, KredEx has to stop accepting the applications in the following days.

    KredEx helps to create new jobs

    In 2005 with the help of investments supported by KredEx guarantees, Estonian companies plan to create more than 580 new jobs. Since 2001 KredExs’ investment loan guarantee has helped to create more than 2500 new jobs all over Estonia.

    KredEx supports local municipalities to enlarge the local housing fond

    The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication decided to allocate 10 million kroons from state budget to improve the living conditions of municipalities. The support will be dealt out to municipalities by KredEx and used for purchasing, building or renovating apartments for the tenants of restituted buildings in Estonia.

    10 000th young family purchased a new home

    With the help of KredExs’ housing loan guarantee, a young family, Ruslan and Tatjana, purchased a new home in Tallinn. For the purchase the young family took a housing loan form SEB Eesti Ühipank and applied for KredEx housing loan guarantee. The young family was the 10000th to use the Kredex housing loan guarantee.

    KredEx, Enterprise Estonia and Hansabank finance science researches

    Estonian Nanotechnology Research Development Centre finances its researches with Enterprise Estonian’s governmental aid, Hansabanks’ loan and KredExs’ business loan guarantee. First time in Estonian the so called bridge financing scheme is used to finance science researches with the help on Hansabank, KredEx and Enterprise Estonia.

    KredEx reissues export guarantees to European Union

    European Commission extended the special licence given to KredEx which allows issuing export guarantees to European Union countries.

    From January 2005 KredEx was unable to issue export guarantees to low-risk or so called marketable risk markets, such as the European Union member states and OECD countries, as the licence of European Commission was not renewed for this year. The new licence given to KredEx will be valid till December 31, 2005.

    KredEx’s housing loan guarantee limit increased up to 950 million kroons

    Due to changes in law the new limit of KredEx’s housing loan guarantees is now 950 million kroons instead of 800 million kroons. And the new limit of business loan guarantees increased up to 800 million kroons instead of the previous 500 million kroons.
     
    In September 2004 KredEx temporarily stopped issuing housing loan guarantees due to reaching the limit of housing loan guarantees in the amount of 700 million kroons counter-guaranteed by the state.

    KredEx confirmed the maximum guarantee and portfolio limits for export guarantees

    In relation to changes in law KredEx now has the jurisdiction to make decision concerning export guarantee limits up to 100 million kroons. Due to the law, decisions concerning export guarantees over 100 million kroons are now under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communication.
     
    The maximum export guarantee limit if the debtor is a bank or a company comparable with bank is 80 million kroons. For strong companies (C-and D-category) the export guarantee is limited up to 40 million kroons and for average companies (E-category) the limit is 20 million kroons.

    From January 20, KredEx begins to accept applications for the support of reconstruction

    Starting from January 20, 2005, KredEx begins to accept applications for the financial support of apartment buildings. This year KredEx received 18 million kroons in order to support the renovation of Estonian apartment buildings. Since the year 2003 KredEx  have supported reconstruction of over 600 apartment buildings in amount of 28.4 million
