At today's sitting, Estonian Government acknowledged the readiness of KredEx, as one of the first, to use the structure funds of the European Union allocated for years 2007 - 2013. Among five institutions, in addition to KredEx, also Enterprise Estonia, Estonian Informatics Centre, Foundation for Lifelong Learning Development “Innove” and the Ministry of Finance were accredited.

„With the help of structure funds it is first of all planned to increase the foundation capital of KredEx, as a result of which opportunities shall arise in the nearest future to offer an increasing volume of loan guarantees and capital loan for companies, as well as expand the activity in the area of housing and energy saving“, the manager of KredEx Andrus Treier said.

"In years 2007 - 2013 yearly allocations are planned to the foundation capital to satisfy an increasing interest in guarantees of enterprise loan, providing among other things also guarantees to start-up loans and provide unsecured capital loans to satisfy the needs of growing companies. Among other things, KredEx shall continue the intermediation of reconstruction subsidies of apartment buildings financed solely from the state budget, coordination of the activity regarding energy saving of buildings and offering of other services provided in the development plan of housing in Estonia," he added.

It is planned to open the first application rounds of structure funds in autumn 2007. The prerequisite for opening of measures is the approval of the terms of a measure. In total Estonia will receive 53.3 billion kroons of structure subsidies of the European Union.
