In year 2006 KredEx thoroughly reviewed and updated the strategy. The renewed strategy for years
2006-2009 was approved by the Supervisory Board in August. The document details the main objectives, directions and principles of activity of KredEx, and provides the predicted financial projections.
From the beginning of year 2006 , an exception was established by the European Commission according to which it is allowed for the state credit insurance providers to offer export guarantee only to small and medium-sized companies with a relatively low export turnover.
At the end of February 2006 , the fifth year of operation of KredEx ended. The activity of KredEx has been effective, which is expressed both by a constant increase of incomes and volumes of portfolios and the development of new products.
From March 28th, 2006 it is possible to secure export transactions with the help of KredEx by a new EU guarantee, which has been developed considering especially the needs of companies with a smaller export turnover, who export to the European Union and the OECD countries.
From April 24th, 2006 the Energy Efficiency Consulting Centre (ESK) started the provision of energy efficiency related consulting of the inhabitants of apartment buildings. As an introductory event, the ESK organised a relevant seminar on April 26th in the National Library in Tallinn
In spring 2006 , KredEx carried out a survey among the account managers of banks, the purpose of which was to clarify the satisfaction of account managers with the products and services of KredEx, as well as their expectations and proposals for the product development.
In spring 2006 , KredEx in cooperation with the European Commission and AECM, an association uniting the European guarantee organisations, organised an international conference about efficient financing possibilities for companies.
In summer and autumn of year 2006 KredEx in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications organised a series of seminars „Possibilities of Energy Saving in an Apartment Building“ in seven Estonian towns.
In summer of year 2006 , KredEx concluded an agreement with cash collection company NCM Eurocollect Ltd. According to the agreement the claims connected with European buyers are forwarded to the partner for collection. Also an agreement was concluded with insurance broker Cooper Gay & Company Ltd.
In summer 2006 , also the counter-guarantee agreement between the European Investment Fund (EIF) and KredEx was extended until 31.12.2007. According to the agreement EIF shall, within the programme of small and medium-sized companies of the European Union lasting for several years, share the risks taken upon guaranteeing of loans meeting certain terms by KredEx up to 50%.
In September 2006 , within the BEEN project, KredEx chose the winner of competition "Make your apartment building more energy efficient", whose reconstruction work shall be supported with 1 million kroons. The winner of the competition was a building with 59 apartments situated in 171 Paldiski Road.
In autumn 2006 , KredEx in cooperation with Hansa Leasing organised an export seminar aimed for exporters.
In October 2006 , KredEx brought a new product to the market – capital loan. Capital loan is most of all meant for small companies with a sufficient history that are growing rapidly and need financing for expanding their activity, but to whom banks are not willing to provide ordinary loans due to insufficient equity capital and/or guarantees.
In November 2006 KredEx organised a conference "Energy Saving Possibilities in Buildings" on energy efficiency of buildings
In year 2006 KredEx simplified the procedures of guarantee applications for both entrepreneurship and housing areas, and more extensive rights were given to banks for independent issuance of guarantees or amendment of the terms of existing contracts.
