Study shows Estonian residential apartment market is well advanced

10.07.2002
Recent estimations show that around 95 percent of registered property in Estonia belongs to private owners.
According to a survey presented by Maive Rute, Chairperson of KredEx, in terms of residential ownership, Estonia is even more advanced that several Central and West European countries. For instance, in Holland only 52 percent of residential housing is privately owned. The Dutch themselves expect to increase this percentage to 65 by 2010.

KredEx, or the Estonian Credit and Export Guarantee Fund, is a self-sustaining fund that operates under the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Its goal is to support the development of enterprises, exports and housing by providing various guarantees, to improve the availability of capital for the SME-s, help to manage the export risks of enterprises and support the financing of home purchases and renovations by banks.
