Last year, Swedbank and SEB Bank issued the renovation loan of KredEx with favourable interest rate to 167 apartment buildings, in total amount of 16.7 million euros.
The average loan amount allocated was 100 thousand euros, average size of building 2,252 m² and the average energy saving achieved by reconstruction work was 39%.
“The activity of apartment buildings in application for the loan has increased in comparison to year 2010. The main reason is the reconstruction grant of apartment buildings that can be applied for in the amount of up to 35% of the cost of the renovation project,” said Mirja Adler, head of the Housing and Energy Efficiency Division of KredEx.
In year 2010, banks issued the renovation loan of KredEx with favourable interest rate to 135 apartment buildings in the total amount of 11.4 million euros. In total, KredEx has issued renovation loan to 391 apartment buildings in the total amount of 34.26 million euros. “We recommend to all apartment buildings planning renovation to start preparations immediately. It is likely that the favourably priced loan resources are available for apartment buildings until autumn of this year,” Adler added. From September 2010, apartment associations or communities can apply for apartment building renovation grant of up to 35%, by which for example the self-financing of renovation loan can be decreased. As of the end of December, already 244 apartment buildings have received a positive decision in the total amount of 6.73 million euros. A prerequisite for the loan and reconstruction grant is the existence of an energy audit and a complete project, for which it is also possible to apply for a grant from KredEx. The maximum amounts per one apartment building during a calendar year are 4000 euros for building design grant application and 700 euros for energy audit grant application.
