KredEx informs that the applications for housing grants for families with many children will be accepted until September 30th. As of today, KredEx has received 815 applications and more than 1000 on-the-spot visits of inspection have been ordered. Most of the interested families come from Harjumaa, where 101 on-the-spot visits of inspection have been requested. Then follow Tartumaa with 80, Viljandimaa with 78 and Pärnumaa with 74 requests. At the moment the least applications come from Hiiumaa, where 12 on-the-spot visits of inspection have been requested.
KredEx started accepting the applications for housing grants for families with many children on July 1st. The national non-repayable grant for improving the housing conditions is meant for the families with many children, where there are at least four children under the age of 19 and where the income per one member of the household has been up to 6000 kroons per month according to the last two years’ income tax declaration. As a grant, the state finances part of the cost of renovating works or the obtained housing.
Activities eligible for aid are building, reconstructing or enlarging the housing in terms of the Building Act; obtaining housing; capital repayment of the housing loan or supporting the self-financing payment; changing or replacing of the utility systems; renovating the housing that is not construction in terms of the Building Act; covering the expenses associated with compiling the building design documentation and applying for the building permit or the written permit of the local government.
The applicant has a right to get a grant for financing one project and the maximum grant sum per project is 160 000 kroons. If there are 8 or more children in the applicant’s family, the maximum grant sum per project is 320 000 kroons. The state support for execution of the projects that are aimed at improving the housing conditions ranges from 80 to 100% of the total cost of the project. The size of the grant depends on the average taxable income per one member of the applicant’s household during the last two years.
The measure is based on the “Programme of the Government Association for the years 2007–2011” from April, 2nd 2007. According to this, the coalition allocates 50 million kroons per year to solve the problems of families with many children.
The conditions of the grant and the application form are available on the KredEx website www.kredex.ee/esk
