The Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts approved the municipalities that receive the support for the year 2007 to increase the municipal-rental housing foundation. To solve the housing problems of the new labour force arriving to the district, 11 local municipalities received support in the amount on 5.1 million Estonian kroons.
Applications for the funds to solve the housing problems of the new labour force arriving to the district were submitted by 12 local municipalities in the total amount of 6.3 million kroons. The applications of 9 municipalities were satisfied in full amount and the applications of 2 municipalities partially. 1 application was not acceded. The largest grants were received by Vastseliina (1 million kroons) and Rakvere (640,000 kroons).
KredEx has supported local municipalities in the amount of 81.4 million kroons since the year 2003. The support of KredEx to increase the municipal-rental housing foundation allows the local municipalities to cover up to 50% of the purchasing, building or renovation prices of the rental houses meant for target groups.
