Smartlink Terminal OÜ, whose main areas of activity are provision of the service of terminal workplaces to customers, creation of special solutions and development of strategies and visions in the field of IT, expanded the offering of services with the help of KredEx also into the South African market.

According to the chairman of the board Henrik Põder the idea to conquer the market of the Republic of South Africa (SA) came, as many things, by chance. “A guarantee of KredEx made it possible to obtain additional financing from the bank and thus realize the idea. I must admit that SA has turned out to be the most successful foreign market until today”, Henrik Põder said.

„At the moment we have already broadened the scope of our activities there by developing new services. Finally the breakthrough in the market will be confirmed in years 2008-2009”, he added.

Smartlink OÜ was founded in year 2000 to offer IT services in Estonia. In year 2003 company Smartlink Terminal OÜ was established in order to gather the know-how of terminal solutions into one company, thus offering the terminal solutions of the company to customers in Estonia and abroad. The company has mainly specialised in development of products and partnerships, as well as market research in several foreign markets like Germany, the USA, Poland, SA, India and South Korea. Products and services have been sold in Estonia, Poland, the USA and the Republic of South Africa. At the moment the company focuses on the markets of SA and Poland, which are two markets of high potential and extent.

KredEx was established by the state with the purpose to help companies develop and increase their competitive strength in the international market. KredEx offers loan guarantee, capital loan and export guarantee to Estonian companies. This year companies have taken loans from banks with the help of KredEx in the amount of 602 million kroons to develop their activity.
